PSA: Higher Ups

The following is MY OPINION on certain matters that have risen, based off of things I have heard, know, or experienced. This is the type of stuff you can't post over in the forums, but I forgot I had my OWN WEBSITE and a right to free speech that I don't exercise enough. You can see I feel strongly about this because of how long this thing is. I don't see how I can get in trouble for posting this here, but if I do, so be it. It needed to be said.

EDIT: I appreciate Buffpuff's comment, yes it does help a little. Look, I don't mind if Overkill becomes an admin or runs the tourney single-handedly or anything, my POINT is that the players NEED to know what is going on up in the staff, we NEED to have some sort of voice within the tournament (not an admin dictatorship), and if anything results out of this, it would be a nice meeting (maybe tourney-wide) with the players and admins on this situation. I don't want anyone banned (especially not me), fired, or to get in major trouble, I just needed to say what we are apparently not allowed to say. We're all humans, we're all playing a game, let's try to ALL get along as best as possible, is my ultimate goal.

Comrade don't be afraid to make a comment. We're dictators now so I don't have to have a reason to ban you...

No offense Stealth as I've never had a cross word to say to you or about you and I feel I can "objectively" look at it from both points of view but Overkill does more shit behind the scenes with this tournament than you can shake a stick at. And as far as I'm concerned he will have the same respect as any of the admin staff. You're more than entitled to your opinion and I realize that this is a jab at certain people but I don't see any reason for anyone to jump on the bandwagon of "let's dump on the admin staff who are dictators". You know me. And you know I'm about as laid back as a person can get until you fuck up. And then I'm on you like flies on shit. And I'm that way with everyone. I don't play favorites and I can separate between business and personal.

We, as admins, DO make mistakes. We're human. And it's the nature of the beast that our names are dragged through the mud on a consistent basis. I can handle that. It's part of the job and it'll never change. If this post makes you feel better than all I can say is carry on...

I agree with stealth I talked to Dwillis and Snipe and basicly got told overkill is TO now if thats the case thats cool but was everyone informed of this or was it another quick change to the rules like has happened a few times before to cover up screw ups and simple mistakes? I'm only back to hang out and play I really dont want to get into this but the rules should be set down and followed that simple and everyone should know what the chain of command is so they can show people the proper respect.

Stealth brings up some very valid points, and it's a shame that this sort of thing can't be expressed less hostilely in the forums without drawing flak. That being said, Slutpuff's argument is pretty universal: "we are humans, we make mistakes".

Now, I get along with most of the admins, if not universally, we can all share some laughs and frag a couple of pubbies. But there are times I see comments and posts absolutely shredded, usually for a single negative word against an admin. Are we not playing in a tournament that welcomes negotiation, honesty, and fairness? The admins are only human, and like us grunts are prone to mistakes and accidents, but there's no reason they can't be notified (through the COC!), and there's no reason they can't strive to do a better job.

Being an admin is a tough bag, but just shutting down every post that contradicts what the tournament administrators have said isn't doing ANYONE any favors.

I remember this stuff, But it still goes on in every single tournament without fail, happens in AAF where I am now, still happening here.
Its a game we all enjoy cause we wouldn't be playing otherwise so just suck it up and have fun cause it will NEVER change.
Congrats to Overkill but don't forget your roots mate.

I'm going to write a book.

You know, things could be worst. It could be airborne in charge.

Overkill is someone that does not follow the chain of command in the reverse direction. It is annoying because nobody is above him to tell him to follow the chain of command. If he truly is TO now, then there isn't shit you can do about it. This is unlike past TO's like Crazzzy and Napolean, who never got involved in divisional BS unless it was an admin screwing with the HCO's. At least they didn't to the level that I could see. I remember the drama camp1 and 2, but that's all I ever saw of crazzzy.

It's a problem in 21cw and will continue to be a problem for as long as you have no oversight at the highest level.

As for this particular incident, blatantly TK'ing an admin is BS. We've tk'ed admins before on purpose, but always in ways to get away with it. I can think of the explanation why, and Stealth, Bob's post was not the explanation why the chopper gunner TKed overkill. It sounded more like the explanation why the bomber may have tked overkill.

My main problem with this situation was overkills post that insulted this division. That is when I got involved in that post. That is why I say that overkill is not respecting the chain of command in the reverse direction. You can call me what you want, but I will always be fiercely loyal to OppA and the most of the people here. Even if it means I go square against admins.

This is why I also want admin vehicles brought back to this mod to create a seperation between admins and divisions again. The only admins that should give a shit about division matters are divisional TA's, but I dunno if they still exist.

My opinions have gotten me demoted this campaign (I think, dunno the full story). Those same opinions I've heard echoed by others in the division, but by keeping true to my role as the "bad" cop, i'm the only one that ever speaks up publicly and gets struck down by the admins. NOT by HCO's. But by admins.

Buffpuff, yes admins make mistakes. Nobody is expecting them to be perfect. At the same time, if your going to make a mistake, acknowledge and move on. Perfect example, our Su-25 campaign 4. It could only do half the damage of the a10 due to improper guns and bomb load. Overkill got it fixed and I thank him for that. The only BS from that situation was Snipe saying that it wouldn't have made a difference. WE ALL KNOW WE CAN'T REPLAY BATTLES, BUT WE LOST HOGSMOKE BY A FEW ROUNDS AND GAZALA BY A FEW ROUNDS AND YOUR GOING TO FUCKING SAY A CRIPPLED SU25 WOULDN'T HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE!! You know, make the mistake, fix it, move on, don't insult our goddamn intelligence or rub salt in the wound. It wouldn't have mattered I think if you just left it at that without the insult. Make the mistake, fix it, apologize, move on.

At the same time Snipe is a guy basically kept me from being perma-banned campaign 3 when he was divisional TA. He's gone through shit for me, so I definetly owe him. Or at least I used to until he demoted me, if the rumors are true. I pretty much burned my bridges with just about everyone that campaign. Wonderfuckingable.

Anyways Stealth, forgive my ranting. People will make mistakes, admins are no different. They just won't take responsibility publicly for them maybe because they think that if a leader makes a mistake it will lead to anarchy. Who knows, if overkill admitted to this mistake publicly would that mean now people will TK him for any little thing and make up some BS reason? If Snipe admitted that our SU affected battles, would he have had to deal with anarchy of OPP A's general demanding a replay?

Also the "respect other people" insult in Overkills post was directed at me I believe. They think I do not respect my fellow players based on my post in the officer barracks that was locked by Snipe. They don't know how much shit I watched go wrong this campaign, starting with an INIT scrim where half our division gave up after a big lead. How much I've held my tongue giving the HCO's time to fix things. Instead they think i'm out of hand. Whatever. It's a reputation I have done nothing to discredit and I've probably embraced it. What's funny is watching kiss-asses like mad croat talk shit in their barracks about me, without knowing anything about my history or the reasons behind my actions.

Anyways, i'm done. Even with no warnings or strikes, I still wonder if this post will get me perma-banned.

I thank you for actually agreeing with me in that post Stealth before it was deleted. It lent some respectability to the thread and the argument and maybe it made it more of a threat. After all, when heaven and hell actually agree that something is bad, you know something may be wrong.

I also thank you for posting your opinion in your cartoon. Even though me and you may not agree totally, it's still great to see someone post an actual opinion instead of kissing ass, or daring the admin wrath. It at least promotes some kind of discussion.

Luv ya,
-As if you can't fucking guess who.
